​2018 Event - An Illusion of Time

2018 “An Illusion of Time” Event Narrative Room For Joy held it’s 3rd annual fundraiser, An Illusion of Time, on Saturday, April 7th, 2018. It was a huge success, once again this year, raising approximately $40,000!! Because of the support of our Sponsors, Donors and Guests who participated in the event, room makeovers for 4 families will be completed this year! We are so thankful for everyone who attended and contributed! Your generosity will bring hope and joy to several children and their families. This year our “Tablescape” contest was a bit different. The categories were, Judges Choice, People’s Choice and Best Costume. Congratulations to Karla Rauch, Table #10 World Travel for winning “Judges Choice! Congratulations to Julia Hintze, Table #24 Grease for winning “People’s Choice” and Congratulations to Samantha Pinkal for winning “Best Costume” with her 1980’s workout ensemble!! Thank you to our judges, Courtney, Lacey and Charlene. Thank you so much to our room recipient guests, Sabrina and Imani, for attending with their families and sharing their room makeover stories with us as well as Childlife Specialist, Wendy Pauker-Gordon. A special “thank you” to our event committee members, Co-Chair Chris Scarpati, Co-Chair Sondra Gardner, Darci Gunthner, Linda McMorran as well as all of the volunteers…it wouldn’t have happened without you! Thank you to Tony Policci, our MC, Josh Gunthner for running our Audio Visual program, Chris Cheney and his great bar staff and our awesome Room For Joy board members! Entertainment was provided by Magician, Eric Giliam, who amazed everyone! He had a couple of audience members participate and made the evening a lot of fun. Catering, provided by Grant Oakley was a definite treat and we “compliment the chef”. It was a fun event and we hope everyone had a great time! Hope to see everyone next year. ​
