Mystery at the Speakeasy 2017
Room For Joy held it’s 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner Event on Saturday, May 6, 2017. It was a huge success, raising more than $46,000 total with over $24,000 raised the night of the event! We enjoyed entertainment by “Short and Sweet Entertainment”, a great Italian meal catered by Chef Christopher and a fun silent auction with more than 80 items. And of course, we can’t forget the Tablescape competition! 20 table hosts created amazing centerpieces and table settings and many even came in costume to enhance their table theme. The creativity this year definitely raised the bar. Thank you to all who participated! First Place: Table 14 “Clue” game Second Place: Table 1 “Candyland” Third Place: Table 7 “Madmen” Special thanks to our event sponsors: Platinum: Frank and Christine Scarpati Gold: Inflection HR (Sevrin & Sondra Gardner and Mike & Jennifer McMorran) Councilmember Christopher Glover Silver: Orbital ATK (Mesa) We also want to thank all of the other partners who helped make the event a huge success! • Southwest Scenic Group for the draping, stage and set up/tear down • Muphy’s Law Pub for bartending • Zone Diet Solutions and Chef Christopher for catering • Sierra Signs for providing all of the event signage • Doug Kalinski, Greg Jensen and Josh Gunthner for the “behind the scenes” technical expertise • Heidi Mixon Imagery for photographing the event And, a multitude of community members for donating to make the silent auction such a success! Finally, the live auction towards the end of the evening was such a blessing as guests bid on funding the next room makeover for 12 year old Jazmin, who struggles with muscular dystrophy. In 20 min. the room was funded, raising the full sponsorship of $10,000!! Wow! Room For Joy donors have such big hearts and help us all remember the blessing of giving back to make a difference in the life of a child. WELL DONE!!
